Crystal Patton- “We are the World …. Real music….meaningful lyrics….words that actually touched lives and made a difference. I honestly just feel good knowing that I had a chance to witness and experience Michael Jackson’s musical genius….there will never be another as great… a TRUE entertainer…. It all just feels surreal. Janet, Tito, Reba, Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, Letoya, Jackie…they’ve lost a brother; Joe and Catherine lost a son. We lost a legend. Wow.”

Sara Land- “So, remember when he performed solo for the first time on the Grammy’s? I was seven, my sister was five; we screamed like crazy. The next day I take my older sister’s Thriller record for show-and-tell and damn near get mauled by my classmates. They were screaming, then the whole first grade wing was screaming! But keep in mind the record was never played that day. Michael Jackson ignited a fire in all of us that will never go away. May we always keep his legacy alive; and teach the babies about him too! Do you remember this song? Blew my mind, but now looking at it with adult eyes it puts into perspective the reach he has with the world. Thank you Michael, for everything!”

I thought I’d wake up and feel better today. Not a chance. I’m actually more sad because the impact of his passing is becoming more apparent. MJ’s music was really the soundtrack of our youth. With his death, we also realize that our childhood is also gone and it’s pretty powerful. Not that we didn’t know it already, but thinking back to all of the times you shared with friends or family listening to MJ, trying to do the moonwalk, or in my case being terrified of Thriller, you realize that those are truly days gone bye. There will never be anyone like MJ again and I’m greatful that our lives were all touched by his amazing music and infectious soul. RIP MJ, we love you.

Today was worse than yesterday! I realized that it was really real! The greatest POP Star was gone. All over the news, mtv, and the radio the possible reasons for him passing away. All the rumors going around! This is truly a hard time for every one! M.J. we’ll never forget your name!

Well, this is crazy. Most people who know me recognize my style. But the reality is I always wanted to be Like MJ, prince and play basketball like michael jordan. I wanted to be a mix of these three men. In the midst of this Voltron mike was the my heart.

    sincerely,

Michael defined my childhood, which is why throughout all of his tribulations I couldn’t hate him. He is the soundtrack to some of my happiest memories. We’re all in shock because this man was a mere mortal, but it was so easy to forget that.

I already miss you Mike. I’ll be playing you for the rest of my life.

How BLESSED we were to actually have lived during the Michael Jackson era to experience his greatness !! We should never forget the musical contributions he make, but also the many racial barriers his music helped break !!
